You might remember Tracy and Matt’s Love Story that was posted a couple months back.  They told the story of how they met, what they loved about each other, and remarked how they couldn’t wait to see the entire wedding day come together…

Classic.  Elegant.  Timeless.  These are the three words that I use to describe Tracy and Matthew’s wedding day.  No detail was overlooked.  With the combination of Tracy (an interior designer), Matt (an artist who did all the graphic design work for the wedding) and Adrienne (wedding coordinator extraordinaire with Bespoke Affairs), the wedding was a guaranteed home run for design.  The whole wedding was classic 1930s New York and made Ian and I miss our times living there.  Everything was impeccable.  From the cake, to the dress, to the venue, to Tracy and Matt’s Foxtrot…  Elegance personified.  I could go on and on about this wedding, but the video speaks for itself.  Enjoy!

Megan usually writes the posts for our weddings, but since she is the bride’s sister and was the matron of honor for this wedding, the task falls to me.  For obvious reasons, this day was more meaningful than most for us.  I’ve known Kaelyn for years and I am positive that I have never seen her more happy or more beautiful than she was that day.  There was a glow in her eyes and a smile always on her lips.  The weather had been rather dreary leading up to the wedding, but on the day it was perfect.  The mountains in the background popped and the grass seemed more vibrant than usual.  The pace of life in Montana is a little slower than California, and that helped us all appreciate the day and the moment that much more.

Megan’s family is a very tight group that loves to love.  On this day they all came out to celebrate Kaelyn’s love and add to it.  It was the perfect place, the perfect time, and the perfect group of loved ones.  At first it felt like a challenge to shoot the wedding without my partner, but by the end of the day I felt blessed to have been able to capture this experience.  So I would just like to thank Kaelyn and her family, my family, for letting me be witness to the kind of love that we all aspire to feel.

What a fun day!  It’s always exciting for us when we arrive and the “getting ready rooms” are full of love and laughter.  Stephanie was surrounded by her bridesmaids we were all smiles as Stephanie got ready and put on her stunning dress.  Down a few floor was Ryan and his groomsmen.  Often times this room can be a bit low key, but Ryan was sharp and his groomsmen were full of jokes.  The ease and beauty of the day continued throughout the day with the help of Jessi over at Just Chic Events.  Stephanie and Ryan had an intimate modern and elegant wedding.  One of the fun things about our job is to ket a peek into different traditions.  For this wedding the Bride and Groom went to each table for a toast.  It was such a nice way to have an intimate congratulations.  The night ended on a high note as the DJ transported us all back to the 90’s with some classic Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears. I repeat, what a fun day!

Misty & Greg are very humble and down to earth.  Their love resonates deeply and profoundly.  We have been in this business long enough to know that there are different types of people, relationships, and love.  Despite this very austere facade, their wedding was a flourish of DIY and vintage charm.  Misty had a vision for the design and feel of her wedding, and she went all out in achieving that look.  They little details abounded and reflected the care that she put into the wedding.  She had dozens of little DIY charms and a lot of vintage pieces spread throughout the venue.  Misty really turned the blank slate into Pinterest magic.  To Greg’s credit, he was there to help support Misty and her vision, which I’m sure every guy out there can attest to, that is a full time job in and of itself.  The work that Misty put into the look and feel of the wedding was reflected in the experience of the day as well.  These two really remind us what commitment really means, and the depth of the decision to give ones life over to another.  It was a beautiful day because it was a beautiful couple.

We are back!!  After a couple months off from filming weddings we are back with our first highlight of 2012 with Ashley & Kyle!  I have known Ashley & Kyle for quite some time.  Probably more years than I’d like to admit.  Growing up Ashley was a really good friend of my cousin.  Kyle and I first met in junior high (Go Tevis Rangers!).   But I hadn’t seen them in years! So I was thrilled that they came to us to document their day.  And what a day it was!  Kyle and Ashley exchanged their heartfelt vows as the sun set on the gorgeous, sprawling grounds at Cellar360 (formerly Meridian Vineyards) in Paso Robles.  As the day turned into night, they took their party inside into the amazing barrel room.  Kyle really set the tone for this party when he surprised Ashley with a dance to Michael Jackson’s P.Y.T.  For the record, if Couture Motion gave an award for Best Dancer, Kyle would win hands down.  Definitely a highlight for us, as I’m sure it was for all the guests.

This was our first wedding in Santa Cruz, and we couldn’t have been happier to have our first experience be with Jon and Danielle.  They both live in Oakland, but Danielle went to school in Santa Cruz and really loved the area.  Getting married in the swanky Dream Inn provided just the right atmosphere for this fun beach wedding.  Often times brides will either be nervous or a little jittery, but Danielle just seemed alive and excited.  She just seemed completely on.  Like if she decided to go do standup at that exact moment she could have the crowd rolling in the aisles with laughter.  This seemed to be her element.  And it made her look more beautiful than ever.  I hesitate to use the word, twinkle in her eye, since it is such a cliche, but I swear there was a twinkle in her eyes!

Another one of the highlights of the evening was the toasts.  One of Jon and Danielle’s nearest and dearest friends gave a speech that must have gone on at least for ten minutes.  Most of the time I would not recommend that someone give such a long speech.  However, if you can alternate between being laugh out loud funny, and tear inducingly sincere, then you are given a free pass.  All in all this wedding was very comforting.  Jon and Danielle fit together like puzzle pieces.  And all their friends and family loved them and were there that day to support them and to celebrate with them.  It really was a perfect beach wedding.  And if you’d like to know more about how Jon & Danielle came to be, check out their Love Story!

Sometimes with our couples we see what I like to call “the simplicity of love.”  It sounds cheesy…I know.  But it’s true!  There’s a moment in this film where Laura looks up at Blake during the ceremony and smiles.  But not any old regular smile…a huge big smile that just exudes love and warmth.  And Blake.  During his interview we asked him what he is thankful for in his relationship.  He responded with, “I’m so thankful that I met her.”  I couldn’t help but appreciate the simplicity of that statement.  This is something that I don’t know if I ever thought to be thankful for in my relationship but thanks to Blake now I am.  Blake & Laura have the simplicity of love perfected.  Thanks for including us on your day!

You might remember Justin + Kendra from their Love Story.  (And if you haven’t watched that film yet, I highly suggest checking that out before watching their wedding highlight.)  On their wedding day, Justin and Kendra just couldn’t wait to marry each other.  They were ready to take that huge step together and become one.  And I must say, that I saw their transformation throughout the day and it was beautiful.  And I’m sure their family and friends saw that very same transformation.

It’s wonderful to be around Justin and Kendra.  It was a lot of fun to be there on the wedding day and constantly laughing with them.  Beyond their humor, they are incredibly sweet with one another.  Justin and Kendra sang a song together and then Justin surprised Kendra by singing “Just the Way You Are” to her.  And that’s why we used Bruno Mars’ song.  They are so adorable.  We wish them luck in their new digs in Tennessee!

Patrick and Ashlee are two super cute people who are perfect for each other.  They are both so easy going and such nice people.  Honestly from the second you meet them you feel like you can just kick back and hang out, despite the fact that they are Red Sox Fans.  We won’t hold it against them.  On the day of the wedding, Patrick and Ashlee were so stoked to be marrying each other. Patrick looked so calm and collected as he waited for the ceremony to begin.  Ashlee looked beautiful in her dress that she snagged from the Little White Dress Bridal Boutique.  It was completed with a cathedral length veil that had lace trimming from her mother’s wedding dress (talk about a perfect ‘something old’).  In my mind their ‘something new’ was their baby Annabella, who is still on the way.  Congrats you guys!!!  Their day was fantastic and we hope you enjoy their story.
