Born worlds apart, they found each other.  Jordan was born in Los Angeles, CA and Tom in Kinglsey, U.K.  But their paths would cross in 2011 in London.  As they walked towards each other and locked eyes they knew in an instant..they had found their soul mate.  Their whirlwind romance brought them here.  To this unbelievable wedding.  This is the kind of wedding that makes Ian and me love our jobs and count our blessings.  Not only was this wedding the most beautiful we have ever seen, but the people behind it all were amazing.  It’s so wonderful to work with friends/colleagues like Heather Kincaid and the ladies at JOWY Productions.  And we can’t say enough about Jordan and Tom.  They are our dream clients.  Authentic.  Hilarious.  Emotional.  Beautiful.  Vulnerable.

We get to witness some pretty amazing things in our business.  Amazing locations, beautiful details, some of the most elaborate celebrations that have ever existed.  But all of that pales in comparison when we get to witness two people that care about each other and support one another on the deepest of levels.  It literally brings a smile to our faces and a tear to our eyes.  Dani & Matt did just that.  Seeing how they locked eyes while delivering personally written ardent vows, we witnessed a pretty amazing and beautiful thing.   Take away the stunning dress, take away the flowers and chandelier, remove the chairs and the little details.  This still would have been an amazing moment for Dani & Matt.  And we were honored to witness that.

Family.  If you were to ask us to sum up this day in one word, that is the word we would choose.  Ian and I could not have felt more honored and humbled to be a part of this wedding day.  We felt so lucky that this was the first wedding of our 2013 season, and that we got to hang out with Anabel & Joey and their families.  Forty of their closest family and friends traveled from Texas to the amazing Montage Laguna Beach in California.  While the details of this wedding were spectacular and breathtaking, it paled in comparison to the love and emotion that was emanating from everyone.  It was palpable.  This reminded us that this is what the wedding day is really about.  The love between to people with the support and love from their families…this is what we film.

Expression is the essence of emotion.  Without expression there would be no smiles, no laughter, no tears.  It is through expression that we share ourselves and how we feel.  Of all the ways that we can express our emotions, the two most powerful are laughter and tears.  That is how I sum up Hillary and Greg’s wedding day.  Laughter and tears.  It’s rare to have a couple who can find the humor and the sincerity throughout such an important day, bouncing back and forth like leaves swaying in the wind, but Hillary and Greg can and did.  Behind the cameras we get a very intimate look into our couple’s lives, and unlike in Star Trek’s Federation, we do not simply passively observe. (Sorry Greg, I tried to work in a Star Wars reference but that was as close as I could get.)  Instead we experience.  We laugh, we cry.  On this day we laughed and cried with Hillary and Greg, because that’s how open they are, that they can bring two people that they know only slightly, on a journey.  We hope that you enjoy the journey as much as we have.

Leslie and Charles had the loveliest of days.  It was full of beautiful details from the flowers to the dress to the tuxes.  Everything was exquisite and classic.  But at the ceremony Leslie and Charles chose a not so classic reading by Bob Marley.  We love personal touches like this.  It’s such a wonderful way to let your guests in on how you two feel about each other with a different reading than the “classic” Corinthians verse.  Leslie’s friend read this quote with such heart that we just had to make it part of the film.  So honest, lovely, and real.  Just like Leslie & Charles.

In our opinion, Jessica & Steven have a true Hollywood romantic comedy romance.  They are like Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack in Serendipity, creating a relationship in an impossible situation.  It was truly meant to be.  Steven was on holiday in Vegas when he walked into a club and locked eyes with a beautiful brunette across the room.  With one wave of her arm, their lives were never the same.  Steven turned down a job in Abu Dhabi and moved to another continent to be with Jessica.  It was no wonder that they couldn’t stop holding each other on the wedding day.  Congrats Jessica & Steven…your love is truly serendipitous and we hope that you enjoy your happily ever after.

This was our final wedding of the season and in it we found one of our favorite moments. I don’t want to give it away, you’ll just have to watch to know what I am talking about, but this moment that I am referring to is exactly the kind of spontaneous, authentic, and revealing moment that we believe we are meant to capture. It’s the kind of moment that you need a film to capture. This moment speaks volumes about Christopher and Stephanie. It shows how connected they are, how down to earth. It shows what a complement they are to one another. It shows the humor and love in their relationship. It is a moment when they let go of everything, forgot what a big day it was, forgot that there were people watching them and recording them. In this moment it was just them, and from our point of view, there is nothing as beautiful as two people just simply being themselves with one another.

After we finished cutting them film, Ian and I were feeling tingly… that’s what happens after we finishing cutting a film because we fall in love with our couple all over again, especially Ed & Kandice.  In our tingly state we started trying to figure out what to say about Ed and Kandice in the blog post and we kept coming back to the same idea… we didn’t want to write a blog post.  This is a conclusion we have reached countless times, and I’ll tell you why.  The films speak for themselves.  They express more than words could ever hope to communicate.  But we always write blog posts, we always seek to say something about the day and our couple… Yet, there was something about this film.  We just didn’t think a blog post would say something that the film could not say better.  But I will say this, Ed & Kandice are so rad.  A couple weeks before the wedding we got together with the intention of having a short meeting to finally meet in person and talk a little about their story and their background.  3 whole hours later we felt like we had new wonderful friends.  It felt like going on the best first date that you couldn’t wait to tell you girlfriends about!  I would be embarrassed to say that but I know Ed & Kandice felt the same way.
So there you have it.  Forgot reading about Ed and Kandice.  Just watch them and you’ll get it!

Happy August everyone!!  Where has this summer gone?!  Ian and I are in the middle of our busiest time of our season and are crossing the coasts for our weddings, quite literally.  And you know what that means?  Lots and lots emotional wedding films coming your way!  But in the midst of this busy time, we are so thrilled and delighted to see Joey & Anabel’s wedding featured over on Style Me Pretty California.  We absolutely loved this wedding full of family, love, tears, and happiness.  The feature also showcases some amazing images by Sara and Rocky Photography with beautiful stylings by Jill LaFleur.  Check that out on your way down to see our film.  Enjoy!!

Don’t you just love a nautical affair?  We do.  So we were ecstatic when Virginia & James, who are good friends of our past couple Kelsay & Mike, contacted us to do their wedding at the Balboa Yacht Club in Newport Beach, CA.  Virginia & James had the most wonderfully detailed nautical wedding.  I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a bride do so many details by herself.  So kudos to Virginia for all her personal touches.  We loved being able to film these details, but most importantly we loved filming James & Virginia’s experience on this day.  They could not have been more comfortable with the day.  Then again, why would you be anything but comfortable when committing to your best friend?  While Virginia was getting ready she mentioned that she wasn’t nervous at all.  James couldn’t have been more relaxed with his great group of friends while he got ready. So when it came time to say “I do!” they were excited for their future.  They partied hard into the night surrounded by their family and friends, who were fantastic dancers!  Congrats Virginia & James!  We were so honored to film such an exquisite day.
